is.
The below is in the newest rules posted here on the geek's file section and in my first English edition rules.
"Goal of the game
The goal of the game is to become
King of Tokyo. The game is over
when a Monster earns 20 Victory
Points ( :star: ) or if it is the last
Monster standing. "
"Winning the game
The game is over when a Monster
scores 20 :star: Victory Points or is the
last Monster standing.
The Monster who gains 20 :star:
or is the last one standing wins
the game and is crowned King of
Tokyo."
The "You must survive the turn, to claim Victory" has been stated many times that it is in the rules to deal with simultaneous death and hitting 20:star:. If you are not simultaneously killed when earning 2:star: or more the game ends. Nothing specifies that the turn continues but the above does specify that the game ends.
