FAQs and clarifications often reword or change rules slightly to explain the original intention. Do you really think an official clarification that contradicts the original rules (not even the expansion rules that the card in question is from) is somehow not official? The reason Stephan says you don't have the survive the turn, seeming to contradict the rules is because (as stated in various places) the rules were written with the intention of preventing a suicide victory and it was never intended to allow people to kill or steal points after the 20 points was achieved. However, people like you who can't seem to wrap you head around that intention, adding in new rules like events are not discrete and there are arbitrary reaction times and all that so Stephan clarifies it to say you don't have to survive the turn per se, just not commit suicide (i.e. other people can't stop you after the fact), just as it was clarified before that you can't heal immediately after death. Now if you want to play that way, by all means; it is your game, enjoy it like you want, but this thread isn't a question of how you play, it is a question of what the official standing is.
