If you can't say no to the healing ray, then you can't stop the mandatory energy bleed, nor can you stop that player with the card from loading up every round he is active and cleaning out the pile of good cards, which almost guarantees a win.
I really hate that Healing Ray card. It seems way overpowered for the price.
Yeah, but again, it simply forces players to switch tactics - if one player is going to try and hog energy - don't accept energy die rolls.
We have one guy who abused the card like a fiend, but once we stopped taking energy results (rerolling them almost every time), he stopped using it...
It means you might not get a lot of cards, but at least it keeps him from gaining energy ridiculously fast.
I do agree that it's slightly overpowered, however.
Again, though - just change tactics! :)
