The decision to support both 1st and 2nd edition monsters was not to benefit people like me who have both, the reason is so that there only needs to be ONE Power Up on the shelves that owners of EITHER 1st or 2nd Edition can benefit from the new release of Power Up!

The main reason they did NOT include KoNY evolutions in this was precisely to keep costs down... using your same argument that "most people don't own both versions of KoT so don't need both" is along the lines of "most people don't own both KoT and KoNY" (self-included) and a pricier Power Up! to include support for a game a lot of people don't have is actually a disservice to the people.

You cant have your cake and eat it too... they chose to offer support in Power Up! to ALL users of KoT, 1st and 2nd edition (not to freaks like me with both, its mostly so that it covers either/or people)... including KoNY support would have made the Power Up! more expensive then covering the two extra KoT monsters in Power Up! does, and for what would arguably be making people pay to support a game, many (if not most) do not even own.
