I think that you have to consider the damage from Acid Attack alone as damage from cards (cannot make people leave tokyo), but not when you have at least one claw in your final roll.

I don't think those discussions are valid any more, given the 2nd Edition rules. The 2nd Edition rulebook says "You can only leave Tokyo after losing [heart] from [claw] rolled by another player".
The 2nd Edition Acid Attack says "Add [claw] to your roll".
So having Acid Attack means you always have at least 1 [claw] when you roll, as it is added to your roll.
