I have a 3 year old and a nearly 6 year old (Dec2nd). I play king of Tokyo with both of them. The older boy gets the mechanics. He buys cards after I read them and I remind him when they come into play. He loves it and asks to play quite often.

The younger boy 3 likes to roll the dice. He always picks the attacks claws. I have to remind him to be gentle with the cut-outs and not to throw or flick the cubes (damn it). My goal is usually to kill this one off quickly so he can do other things or I let him be on my "team". Which means he can roll the dice.

Tonight I was playing with them and knocked off the younger boy. The older boy ( the 5 year old ) said, "Well Daddy he is not really dead because he gets the "side kick card" for dying so soon. It is a house rule". Which is not only true but a testament to how much he knows and remembers what is going on in the game.

Lastly, get the game for yourself, as it is a good game and beautifully designed to boot. Let the kids be dice fodder. MAW HAHAHAHA
