I agree with Chris. The cards can be played at anytime, but the game was over by the time it was used. I don't think I would play with a group that allows a victory to be undone after the fact in any game.

In regards to Jonah, I am pretty sure that rule is to ensure people don't suicide to victory via points/damage cards. No where is a timing stated so I doubt they meant one to be implied.
