At first I didn't like this game, my wife would win a three player game in three or four turns by scoring 20 points. I never had a chance to buy any cards or deal much damage. I was bummed, I was really excited for this game.What kept bugging me was how it could be ranked so well, I knew we had to be doing somthing wrong. I re-read the rules and even read a few forums here but still could not find anything. Then my wife watched the video review by Dice Tower and then she immediately called me.
We were counting the dice rolls for victory point wrong. We were adding all the values together, unless three of a kind was rolled. For example, if we rolled 3, 3, 3 and 1, we scored 4 points or if we rolled 3,2, and 1, we scored 6 points.
The right way is to only gain victory points if we rolled three of a kind. For examples a roll of 3, 3, 3, and 1, would only score 3 points (for the three of a kind). The one is worth nothing.
