Oh well, we tried a Double Dose variant in a 3-player game. Never again. The game was finished before it even started, overall more cards were bought but they simply helped the point leader to win even faster.
I am not sure if Double Dose fans use it in a 3-player game, but the variant sucks for that number of player. I know it was just 1 game, but definitely the worst KoT game ever and I am not willing to repeat the experiment.
Double Dose might work a bit better in a 4-player game, but I am sensing similar thing happening. More cards benefit everyone and there seems to be even less time to catch up with the VP leader.

Hm, I just got a new idea. How about: everyone gets double does except for the current VP leader who gets the usual 1 cube for a single lightning bolt (as long as he is in the lead)?
