I have no idea about the LoK stuff, so I leave the thematic integration to those who know more than I. But I feel pretty confident about the mechanics of the cards you are suggesting.

If the norm is 4 Temporary and 4 Permanent Evolutions, then you are already at 4 and 1, so obviously you have some brainstorming yet to do. But for what is here already, #1 targets just 1 player. That's pretty rare IIRC. It could be good, and it's probably okay to be different than the status quo, but one wonders if targeting a specific player would be worth the grudge match it might produce?

#2 is better in the sense that it targets all players equally, and it's original. But it may be overly powerful. It sounds promising; if I were you I'd mock up these ideas as cards and use them in some games so you get a better idea of how they are received and how powerful their effects on the game may be.

#3 I think this is fine as-is, but it's obviously situational in its value. It may do nothing more for you than allow you to get back an evolution that wasn't helping you much anyway. It's only as good as the weakest other Evolution card idea you come up with, and unfortunately you are spending a whole turn to get a card that has no effect on the current state of the game--whether you hold it or play it immediately. This could be a great idea if your other discardable cards are great.

#4 Excellent. (Especially if it comes out early in the game.)

#5 Nice. Similar to several other things, but this gives you a great deal of flexibility, making it less situational.

I guess my concern at the end of this list is the massive gap between the strength of "Sever the Past" and the so-so-hum-drum-ness of the rest of the ideas you've got here. It's compensatory, maybe, but it feels more like a lopsided set of cards. Perhaps the missing 3 cards would fill in that gap.
