Rob Olsson has proposed King of Tokyo as a new tournament event for the World Boardgaming Championship. I think this would be an ideal game for a late-night tournament, like Can't Stop, Liar's Dice, and Slap Shot. It's short, fun, easy to learn, readily available, and can accommodate 6 players, so the tournament will take at most 3 rounds.

Which tournaments are added to WBC each year is determined by a vote of those who preregister. So if you're thinking of going to WBC next year, sign up by the end of the month (this will save you money, too) and vote for King of Tokyo!

(if you've never heard of the World Boardgaming Championship, it's my favorite gaming con by far. You can learn all about it at www.boardgamers.org, or ask me if you have any questions).
