It's still hard to get enough hearts to get back into the game when you get all three rolls every time. But at least you have a better chance. And even with my idea of not having to use all dice, most of the time the winner wins because everyone else died.

With the "real" rules the only time you need to decide if you should throw all three times is when you are almost dead anyway. Why would you make the game harder for the person who is losing? Most of the time you just roll all three times. If anything, by making it so you decide what dice you use, I'm leveling the playing field for all players.
