My friends love to play Magic: The Gathering. I don't. I've always tried to introduce new games to the group, but I've had very little success in doing so. Some guys we know play Munchkin and after watching Table Top, I thought it looked like fun, so I talked to those guys about it and they invited us all over to play it. We all enjoyed it and several of us bought our own sets and we would play it in addition to Magic for a while, but the problem with Munchkin is that it gets old pretty quickly. Now, we may play it once in a while, but not that often and the box I bought collects a lot of dust. I had heard good things about King of Tokyo and watching the Table Top episode were they play it, it looked like a lot of fun, so I thought that would be a good game to get, but then I saw the price. $30 (the lowest price I could find) seems pretty steep for such a simple looking game and I really worry that if I buy it, it will be like Munchkin all over again. A game that's really fun for a while, but then gets old. Is that the case? I see a lot of people calling it a great 'filler' game, but $30 seems a lot for a 'filler'. I'd love to try the game out, but I live in the sticks and we don't have any kind of real gaming stores here.
