I also rule that you can.After thinking about it, I don't even see it at all thematic or otherwise logical to house-rule that only healing by hearts is considered with Rapid Healing (in case you think this is too powerful), because rapid healing is just that. Whenever you heal, you heal faster. There are so many other good combinations, and this is just one of them.
