Only in BGG Fantasyland is KoT a children's game. Family game yes, good with teens yes, but it's not for young children. Maybe it's good for the children of serious gamers, but it's ridiculous to suggest that the ideal age range for this game is 6-10. I have a 7 year old in the house and there's no way I'm playing this game with him. There's no way I'm playing it with ANY of the kids I know under age 10. We play Kids of Carcassonne, Sliders or Chicken Cha Cha Cha. Ya know, games for children.
Love KoT, but it should never have won the award for best children's game. The award was a joke and quite honestly made me lose respect for BGG.

Late to the party, I know, but I have to disagree. This is the game that my 7 year old asks for repeatedly. And he's not bad at it, when he remembers that the point isn't just to buy cards.
