Some European Monsters/Creatures:

- Loch Ness Monster
- Dragons
- Gnomes, Leprechauns, Dwarves, Nibelungen
- Jötnar (Giants)
- Gargoyles
- White Ladies/Dame Blanche (no, not the ice cream!)
- Baba Yaga/Black Annis
- Mermaids
- Cyclops

The problem with most of the European monsters is that they're all really old. Godzilla and co come from 1954, and America has had a thriving monster theme running with the Blob, Creature ft Black Lagoon, Attack of the 50 ft Woman, King Kong and such up to Jaws.

Europe, lacking a cohesive culture and language, simply does not have the required foundation for such creatures. Tremors and the Cloverfield monster would have been a French and a Norwegian underground movie, and not get as widely known as a result.

Secondly, as OLD monsters, they are usually more creepy and/or cautionary than giant - although we do have the Giants, of course. Few of the ones we have are widespread enough, and even fewer make sense as destroying a city like Londen (asmost of the really big ones are from the greek period).

However, I love this idea :). I was thinking more along the lines of adapting Monsters Menace Europe, though, as the map allows you to have more than one city.

If you'd need six, I'd go for a Dragon, a Giant, Mr Hyde, a Troll, a Golem of some sort (Stone, the Colossus? Flesh, giant Frankenstein's Monster? Clay, the Long Man of Wilmington? All three are decent options imho) and as number six... euhm... Oh! The Tarrasque of course :)

Nessie would be a fine addition as well, in fact, skip Mr Hyde :).
