A coherent game that doesn't require me to repurchase a bunch of redundant content.

For me personally, that currently is monster packs for the new monsters, which as I have said, I am starting to think won't happen at this point. Down the road though, depending on what is supported and what is not, that may be additional stuff. For other people who don't own the same things as me, that could be other things, and that is my point.

Things have gotten so screwy because of how they have handled the situation that they could make exactly what I need to solve this problem for me for now, but it still leaves other people with different content in different situations. For instance, people with 2nd edition KoT and PU have cards that they can't use unless they rebuy the 1st edition KoT. Everyone that was expecting to get KoNY cards in that expansion also needs to buy that separately now. Anyone with 2nd Edition that picks up the Halloween expansion (which is said not to be re-released) can't use the costume cards because of the different backs. Also will those monsters get powers for KoNY? It is quite frankly a mess.

And the thing is, I, at least, have seen this exact thing before. I have a copy of Pandemic on my shelf that saw MANY plays. However, we have gotten pretty tired of the content in recent years so it doesn't see much play anymore. I could of course pick up one of the new expansions to revitalize the game, but that would require me to rebuy the game and expansion I own. Why did they do that? They just wanted to change the art so they could sell more copies at Target which in turn made all the components incompatible.
