I was under the impression that the legal issues with Cyber Bunny were related to an upcoming digital version. So if they release a digital version of the base game, they can't use that character in an online game.And they can't use that character's likeness on digital card-backs, either.
But if they print special cards in an expansion that have the appropriate card-backs, but references to these old characters on paper only, maybe that's OK.
IP law is weird.
