Kickstarter in a nutshell. They've gotten YOU to pay for their promos.
It's a mind-boggling phenomenon.
It's a mind-boggling phenomenon.
Do you mean it's mind-boggling because KS convinces hundreds of people to pay MSRP, upfront, for a game they haven't played yet and for which they have read no reviews, just so they can get an exact copy of the very game that will appear in stores, often at lower prices? Or is your amazement because the money KS saves the company by cutting out the middle man is being used to produce for free a promo that they can then give out for free?
From the former perspective, I agree, it's crazy. There is no limit to the stupidity of human beings. But from the company's perspective, it's genius. Nothing mind-boggling about that at all.
That' a really narrow minded thing to say and to call people stupid? That's unfair.
1. in a lot of cases Zombie 15 included it will cost me the same amount as what I pledged to get the game in hand (I'm in Canada). So backing the project to make it better doesn't cost me anything more.
2. It's nice to be part of making the game better or bigger, even if it's made better for everyone else as well.
3. KoT promos sell for a high premium on eBay so getting a promos alone for basically a fraction of the cost it will probably go for alone and you have a game seems like a descent idea.
I'm sure you squander your money on some frivolous things some of us we think is pretty stupid as well, that doesn't give anyone the right to spend their money any which way they want.
