How did he take it seriously? He said it wasn't for him and he wouldn't play it again. He didn't rage quit. He didn't throw the dice. I panned out wrong and its a game he doesn't like. Good grief, people are entitled to have differing opinions about a game and not get attacked for it.

Reread his post. He was taking it seriously. Posting after playing a well known, light, silly, random game... once..and cos he lost...

I did. Twice. Before I posted the first time. He posted about the mechanics. He wasn't angry he lost. He didn't seem angry at all. But then its text so its hard to tell if someone is, oh, I don't know...angry...sad...or taking things too seriously. Because its text. Not speech. You know. With inflection.

Perhaps my gaming groups differ from yours in this respect. We care about places other than first, and care very much about close finishes (where first and second place differ by a small number of points). Those of us that keep game journals keep track of not only placements, but also end game scores.

As the first person eliminated, and/or the person with the fewest points at the end of the game, I came in last.

Now, your definition of serious may differ from mine, but that looks pretty serious to me. :P

I do think it is valiant to jump in and defend people, i really do, but sometimes they are just plain wrong. And as for not being able to read if someone is serious or not within text on the interwebz, sometimes you can...because they make it kinda obvious..you know, with their use of words

I took 1 read, you took 2, no biggie
