So you don't like fun. That exact thing is exactly what King of Tokyo is all about. Not every game needs to be a brain burner that is solely based on skill. This game is a short mix of luck and meaningful decision making that is just a blast to play. Try to lighten up and see the game for what it is. You should be talking and laughing about that loss and how it happened for the rest of the night while you are enjoying your deeper more meaty and strategic games. You can't put down a game for giving you the exact experience it was meant to deliver.

Lets not act like he just took a dump on your favorite game. He said he didn't like it. He didn't say it was a bad game, just not for him. Claiming he doesn't like fun is completely inaccurate and unnecessary. Clearly fun for you and fun for him are different concepts but it doesn't mean his idea of a fun game isn't fun for him.

Far from my favorite game. I just don't get why people complain when they are getting exactly what is advertised. This is a light dice, and card based game that never intended to be anything more. If you don't like lobster you don't buy lobster. Same goes with games.
Perhaps it wasn't advertised? Perhaps he went in blind and was disappointed by it. He's entitled to his opinion and, thanks to public forums, entitled to voice it. You're more than welcome to disagree with it as well but there's no reason it can't be done with civility. Claiming he "doesn't like fun" because he didn't like King of Tokyo? Really? :shake:

How did he take it seriously? He said it wasn't for him and he wouldn't play it again. He didn't rage quit. He didn't throw the dice. I panned out wrong and its a game he doesn't like. Good grief, people are entitled to have differing opinions about a game and not get attacked for it.
Reread his post. He was taking it seriously. Posting after playing a well known, light, silly, random game... once..and cos he lost...
I did. Twice. Before I posted the first time. He posted about the mechanics. He wasn't angry he lost. He didn't seem angry at all. But then its text so its hard to tell if someone is, oh, I don't know...angry...sad...or taking things too seriously. Because its text. Not speech. You know. With inflection.
He didn't say it was a bad game, just not for him

Really, "King of Tokyo suffers from other mechanical defects that leave far too much luck in the game.", oh, and he wouldnt play again but with house rules. His analysis is absurd considering the type of game KoT is. Its like complaining that you cant play Chaos in the old world with your granny cos she would be offended by the art.
And all the while sporting a "Skill-based games fan" microbadge.
Im sorry, i had to laugh

Still doesn't mean "King of Tokyo is a bad game". It means he doesn't like the mechanics. Perhaps he felt like expounding on this in case others feel similarly. I still don't see the problem. :what:
