A friend of mine was discussing our recent play on the way home from game night and he was lamenting the fact that cubes don't seem to enter the game and this means the spiffy powers don't get bought. (we're playing with the Power Up expansion, and more than a few evolutions hit the table)

He says that there should be some way to get more cubes in the game, like if you roll three bolts you get four cubes and such. My retort is that cubes are there if you want them, you just have to accept them but people tend to prefer wreaking havoc with triplets, clawing the limbs from their opposition or healing up and that cubes are essentially a consolation prize.

I'm guessing that Richard Garfield didn't come up with anything in the game by accident and if he wanted heaps of money flowing throughout that there would be easier ways to get it. I don't have a problem with house rules if they fix something but if the game works I like to leave well enough alone.

Do you feel like there's not enough cubes in your games, to the effect that you come up with ways to get it in there more and faster?
