Given that there is time to activate other cards with reroll abilities between the final roll and application of the results, I find it difficult to argue that Rapid Healing cannot activate within the same timeframe. If you do disallow it, you also have to determine exactly when you disallow it. You have to answer questions like: "Can you see which dice they are picking up to reroll before deciding whether to use Rapid Healing or not?"

Edit: Having said that, I wouldn't have a problem with making the entire roll atomic for cards that don't affect the roll, like a1bert essentially does, provided that the group is fully aware that's how those abilities will be working for that game.
