First: nice review, I think you covered most aspects perfectly.

I'd have to say while I agree this is indeed a "filler" game, when I have people over (usually there's 6 of us) we inevitably choose to play this game over and above the others on my shelf.

There's a variation of gaming skills amongst the group and King of Tokyo is popular because it doesn't need a lot of experience to get into and just play. Likewise I can play this with my 2 6-yr old sons and we have a blast. It covers all ages and skill levels, so for that alone, it gets my vote.

I would disagree with you on the component quality - to an extent. Mine is a first print of the game and it was the quality and visual style of the components that have since resulted in another member of my group buying this game. The ONLY issue is the dice. The first printing had silk-screened dice and the paint does start to wear off. The later re-print has etched dice where this is unlikely to happen.

There's at least one thread on BGG talking about this and Iello have since indicated there will be replacement dice that can be bought.

All in all, I personally would recommend this game to anyone, as long as they are not looking for a day-long campaign. It can easily be played in under an hour, even with 6 people.
