Number Ten and Number Nine
Most of the time, my gaming partner ends up being Mrs. Games with Two; usually it is just the two of us. This made me think, "what are my favorite games to play with my wife?" These are not necessarily two- player-only games or the best games to play with two players. These are games that are in our collection, that hit the table often, and that we both enjoy to play with one another. I enjoy playing these with other people as well, but they hold a special place in my heart for the times that we just game with each other. All of these games can be played in under an hour and can be taught in a matter of minutes. I think this trend is due to our lifestyle (we have two small children), and the fact that we just want to relax when we play games. There is a time and place for deep games that make your brain turn into mush, but a Wednesday night is not the time. So, without further ado here is my Top 10 games that I enjoy playing with Mrs. GwT (that's a long title so let's just go with Top 10 Games We Play Together).
#10 King of Tokyo
This is a quick simple dice rolling game. It gives Yahtzee some purpose, and makes it fun. We just received this game in the mail a couple days ago and I have already fallen in love with it. I can see this one easily moving up my rankings the more I play it. We have only tried it with two players so far, and I was pleasantly surprised. Due to the nature of the game, I thought for sure it would only work well with 4-6 players, but it works with two, and Mrs. GWT loved it too. Great little game and worth considering adding to your collection.
#9 Can't Stop
Dice is a common theme in the two games that start the list of 10. Can't Stop is a push your luck game in which you are tryin to get three of your pieces home before anyone else. I wrote up a full review a short time ago (you can click here to read more). This one is just so easy to learn and easy to play. We like to play this one while watching one of our favorite shows on TV. It's a great way to wind down the day. This one also works great with 3 or 4, but we have really enjoyed it as a two player game.
The list will continue in the coming weeks. Let us know what some of your favorite games are to play 2-player. And comeback to see what is going to be number eight and seven next time.
