This game has been broken out in my place not as much as I'd like, mostly due to my fear that my non-geeky associates will think it's a game for children, due to the presentation.

When I do break it out, I love it each and every time. I own the expansion and will never play without it but I never cared that the monsters were all identical in the base game. I kinda liked it, it meant that you had to give your monsters their own character, plus it was just simpler (didn't have to look through a pile of cards to find your monster's deck, just give each player a tracker and a standee and you're good to go).

I did play it last week for the first time in a while and I do need to make a push to play it more! My favorite filler.
