Ok, example: I just bought "Mimic" now I must immediately mimic a card. Since I cannot change my mind until my next turn, and perhaps i have no energy cubes anymore, it would be interesting to know, what the next player is able to buy in his turn, to choose now for mimic a card, which is the optimal counter for it.

Next example: I just bought a discard card, which damages all monsters. One of my opponents has "Opportunist" in play and is low on life. He would be interested in the new card to reveal, because he can buy it immediately BEFORE I use my card. And perhaps its a card, which saves his life.

Assumption: The King of Tokyo Rules are the authoritative source for game play related issues.

Example I: Rules state "Purchased cards are immediately replaced from the top of the deck." There is no mention of KEEP cards and their effects being immediately resolved. As soon as "MIMIC" is purchased it is replaced with a new card. Once this has occurred the Monster that purchased "MIMIC" will choose a card and put a mimic counter on it.

Example II: Rules state "DISCARD: Monsters immediately resolve these then discard them." As in Example I, the DISCARD card is immediately replaced with a new card. But as noted, the effect of the purchased DISCARD card is also immediately resolved. Therefore, these two events occur simultaneously. The new card is revealed while all monsters take damage. Again, there is no mention of KEEP cards and their effects resolving immediately. Any Monster in procession of "OPPORTUNIST" must wait before purchasing the newly revealed card. Once the damage from the DISCARD card has been taken, the Monster in question may opt to purchase the newly revealed card if said Monster has at least one Life.
