I agree here. If you are setup for it (ie with cards that do extra damage etc) then staying in Tokyo can be an advantage. This is because if you do a lot of damage to everyone, they will be focused on healing instead if damaging you.


I have found that staying out of Tokyo until you have ~10 points is usually a pretty good strategy. Then the steady point gain really comes in handy. In the last game we played, I went in with 12 points and stayed until I won. I had an exceptionally good first two rounds (first five 3's, and then four 3's), neither time were my remaining dice claws. So I had 9 points already after only two turns. Collecting 2 per round quickly got me closer to a win, and then the perfectly timed "+4 point, -3 life" came out. I had exactly 4 life at the time, and 16 points.
