Do it in whatever order makes most sense at the time.

May I ask, Frank, why are you asking all these rules questions? Have you just bought the game to play with your group and are learning the rules? Are you planing to hold a King Of Tokyo Tournament? Something else?

A strange question. Of course, because our gaming group expects, that these usual questions are cleared, before we start a play.

For most games, precise material is available, which covers the most obvious timing questions, excaptional cases of the game state and card side effects, either in the rules itself or at least in the FAQ.

For this game though, this is more or less a mess. The rules consists of four pages, from that the card glossary is a half page, whereby the game has 64 completely different event cards with dozens if not hundreds of side effects.

And nearly each card with a so lousy wording, that is already a challenge, to note only the most obvious questions, which come to your mind, while you read them, without even playing.

The the two half-official FAQs, I found, consist of only a few pages, and an official of the publisher disagreed recently on at least two important topics of the FAQ. So you can hardly trust even these FAQs.

There is no offcial FAQ, and official answers seem to arbitrarily play with game terms and are more decision on a by-case basis, as a general consistent interpretation of the rules.

And facing this mess, you really wonder, why I ask these questions? Are you kidding?
