You are using the healing effect the hearts provide to heal a status affect on your creature instead of healing your open wounds. The healing effect hearts provide is not available in Tokyo.
The use of hearts for "other things" is there for things like the card that gives you 9 VP if you roll one of each side of the die.

From where do you deduct, that removing counters is a healing effect? This is written where? In fact it is explicitely said, that it is NOT a healing effect, as I mentioned above.

There is another proof, that it is not a healing effect, to remove counters: because you are not allowed to use a card which heals life, to remove counters instead.

I'm not really sure whether you're here to ask a genuine question?! From your initial post and your response it's clear that you already have an interpretation and don't really care for what others have to say so why post?!
