I would be interested to try this. I love this game, as do all the guys I played it with, but almost every time we were glad to give up Tokyo ASAP. Seemed, anti-thematic.I also considered this house rule:
You get 1 point for entering Tokyo, per the normal rules. If you make it all the way back around to your turn, you get points based on the number of players, minus 1. (1 point for each Monster who's turn you survived). So in a 3 player game, it would be the normal 2 points. In a 4 player game, 3 points, and so on. In a 6 player game, you'd get a whopping, well-deserved 5 points for surviving a whole round.
It's so hard to survive all the way back to your turn in a 5 or 6 player game, that 2 points seems laughable. With this house rule, you would be rewarded well for surviving the onslaught, and it would make the tension of deciding to stay or go even higher. Any reason this simple change would damage the game?
