We have this game for about a year now and it still hasn't grown old. But we also don't play it every time we get together. It's a filler(ish) game. Sometimes we'll play it once and move on other times if the mood suits we'll play it a few times and fill the evening. It's got some subtle strategies, a lot of press your luck and some really good combos if you can find them based on card draws. $30 seems perhaps a little steep, but the components are all well made and unless your group hates dice I'd be surprised if they don't take to it. It's not a game everyone will love but in our mixed group of hard core gamers, children and even grand parents from time to time it's been a big success.
