So here's the situation:
Kraken has 2 hearts left. He has a facedown evolution card.
The current player, of whom Kraken is a valid target, rolls his dice, ending with 2 claws, effectively sending Kraken to 0 hearts.
He then reveals his evolution card. It was it heals him two hearts.
My argument was that the dice had been resolved, therefore the damage was dealt, therefore he was dead, therefore unable to play the card.
He says the 'play any time' rule made it ok. I figure once the dice were done being rolled he was dead.
What's the ruling here? Can you play a heal 2 card once you see that 2 damage has been rolled against you? After the final re roll of those attack dice?
EDIT: We let him live with his two hearts because we were sick of arguing.
