IELLO is really saying "these aren't promos even if we call them that, it's an extremely limited mini-expansion".
Extremely limited still means you might not get one.
Exactly. But in this world of Veruca Salts, that's unacceptable. "But I WANT it, Daddy!"
It's not quite an issue of entitlement. There is a demand for this product. People are willing to lay down money for it, and Stephan has gone on the record by saying (paraphrasing) "We're not interested in giving our customers what they're asking for".
That's not what IELLO have said at all.
You're grossly misrepresenting their statement.

Of course those of us who are on the outside looking in are going to be pissed. I personally feel like they have gone out of their way to artificially inflate the value of this "promo" through limited availabililty. The only real recourse we have at this point (aside from the obvious just buying it through other avenues) is to not buy from them again, which almost certainly won't influence their future business decisions, but it makes me feel better right now. You may not agree with me (of course you don't, you already have your set of cards), but I am entitled to feel spurned.
I'm "on the outside looking in" and I'm not "pissed".
I don't have the promo cards and I don't agree with you.
Nor do I feel spurned.
Well, good for you. Sorry we don't live up to your lofty standards.
And yes that';s exactly what IELLO is saying. He nailed it.
No, IELLO are saying they have no intention of printing enough copies of a promotional item so that everybody who owns the game can have a copy.
The part you seem to be mis-understanding is the part about the cards being a promotional item.
As such it not meant to be owned by everyone that has the game.
If it was, it would not be a promotional item.
This is a fairly simple concept to understand, and that is why people believe that you have a sense of entitlement, because they can not see how you are failing to grasp this concept.
But you fail to grasp the concept that this is no longer promotional. As it was painfully pointed out to me earlier in this thread, promotion is designed to entice people into buying product. This is now being offered for sale to people who already have the game. So how is it still considered a promo? How can you fail to grasp that?
They were created to be promotional items. Period. They found extras. They decided to make some available for a nominal price for a limited amount of time. That doesn't change the fact that they are a promotional item. How can you fail to grasp that?
How can you fail to grasp that what the cards were originally printed for has no bearing on how they are being used now? Cards are not created as promos, they are created as cards. It is how they are used that makes them promos or items to be sold for profit. If they took that same set of cards, printed about 10,000 sets and sold them through their website and at conventions, would they still be promotional? I don't think so.
The point is that they didn't print 10,000 sets. They printed a very limited amount because they were, you know, promotional. The way the cards were originally printed have EVERYTHING to do with how they're being used now. They weren't meant for general sale. This doesn't seem to matter to you though. You feel entitled to them simply because you want them.
