This idea is really worse. If this is such a good idea, then next time this company has a new game, why don't they hold a lottery and only people who wins can have the "honor" of purchasing it? Then they know how many copies to print and just like with these promo cards, only a portion of those who want the product will have a chance to get it. Ridiculous plan.

Rick,

It took me a while to decide to reply to you as I didn't really know how to handle the bitterness and hostility in your messages. I'm still not sure I have the best way but I will give it a shot.

Let me start by saying that I am sad you feel this way since we are spending a lot of time and effort to provide the best customer service we can (at least we like to think so). We are a young company and things are moving very fast for us. There is no manual and we are learning as we grow.

It seems to me you are upset because you assume that we withheld promotional items from you while you purchased our games at GenCon and Origins. At this time, there were NO Promo Cards available at all in the USA. THIS IS why you didn't get your set of Promo Cards, not because we decided not to give them away.

When we created IELLO USA last year, it was already late in the show season and to tell you the truth the booths where already sold out, this is why we asked our friends at Global Game if we could share their booth. We scrambled to put together the shows and flew Richard Garfield at the last minute to provide something special to our fans and customers. We even scored some of the PROMOTIONAL "Richards Gift" cards to give away.

Maybe you have a mis conception of what a PROMOTIONAL item is. The way we see it is that a PROMOTIONAL is an extra gift from us to our fans. We don't HAVE to make it, we don't HAVE to give it away.
I'm not sure why you are under the impression that because you own our games, we owe you a set of promo cards. I can tell you for sure that we are not planning to print 25.000 sets of promo cards for all the King of Tokyo games we sold so far. At this time there is actually less than 300 sets left and we are seriously debating about reprinting them since they create such a ruckus and speculation around them.

I'd like to add that I don't think that using a public forum to try to get your way is the smoothest move. You can see by other posts on BGG that Matt and I are very accessible and you might have try to reach out to us directly.

Anyway, I hope you won't punish yourself by boycotting our future games (we have some really cool products in the pipeline and yes, there will be promo items for some of those too but not everybody will get them).

Feel free to enter the drawing to get the same chance as everybody else to get the promo sets.

Cordially,

Stephan Brissaud - IELLO USA Operations.
