.) I think the idea is interesting, but allows the first player a free card if a 2 cost comes out. Have you thought about having each player always gets 1 energy a turn in addition to any they rolled? This would give people more powers without disrupting the start game as much, and allows the tension to build more.

.) I actually find the game works best with 3-4 (not 5-60). I was wondering if you find the game ends even more often in death (something that people already complain about happening too often) now?

.) This is a reasonable way to buff the sweep; however, it has always seemed the intention of the sweep was mainly to block players, not getting new cards for yourself. Plus I don't like the idea of someone getting to look at 3 new cards and have first chance to buy them without having to pay.

.) I think I would prefer just to let people draw two and keep one to begin with. If people are strong, they don't get much out of the hearts anyway, and if they are weak, they would always take the hearts and a blind draw. Also it is a press your luck game so people who are "conservative" with their hearts usually just means they have been lucky, and I don't think they need an extra reward.

Overall these are interesting ideas, but many of your reasonings run completely counter to my experiences. Obviously you play with them, and they seem to work, but I don't think they would work well with my group and our play style.
