Thread: King of Tokyo:: Rules:: Timing questions

Our lunchtime group loves this game, but the English translation issues and vagueness of the rules have been frustrating at times. Here are two timing questions that we are currently debating:

1) Dice resolution order

The rules don't seem to specify, but one of the FAQ answers seems to imply that the dice are not resolved simultaneously. If that's true, does the active player determine the dice resolution order? For example, can I choose to attack first, then heal?

Case in point: Reflective Hide. The active player is fully healed and rolls both an attack and a heart. If he resolves the attack first against someone with Reflective Hide, would he immediately take the reflected damage and thus be able to heal it with his heart result?

2) Yielding Tokyo

When a player in Tokyo is attacked, when exactly must they state whether or not they are yielding? Does it happen during the dice resolution phase as soon as the attack is resolved, or can they wait until after all the dice have been resolved? (For example, someone might decide whom to heal with Healing Ray, depending on whether an opponent has yielded Tokyo.)

We've always played that you have to decide whether you are yielding Tokyo before the card buying phase, but I don't think that's really specified in the rules either.

Thanks!
