All the sitting around watching people roll dice, stare at the dice, re-roll, stare again, and finally roll once more just wasn't doing it for me. Making it through a round of five players took a while and there didn't seem to be much to think or to talk about when it wasn't my turn.
See this just doesn't happen with the groups I bring it out for. Never are we just sitting there staring at the dice waiting for our turn. There's talking laughing and yelling. Everyones screaming "DONT YOU DARE ATTACK ME OR I'M COMING FOR YOU". There's yelling about people buying cards other people wanted. Yelling because people are rerolling attack dice when they should be attacking the person who's winning and in Tokyo. I'm sorry your game wasn't like this but I've never played a game of KoT where everyone was just sitting there staring at the dice.
But like I said earlier. It's the same thing with Cosmic. If you play that game with people who don't inject some interaction or trash talking or wheeling and dealing it's not going to be a fun game. But that's not about the game. Some games are just basis for player interaction. If you don't have players who are going to interact without being forced to those games aren't going to be fun.
